Narrative
VERNON CO., MO – Three women and a man died Friday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in east-central Vernon County.
The accident occurred at night along US-54 south of Walker. This is between Nevada and El Dorado Springs.
Police say that an SUV struck a sedan when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to heed a stop sign.
The driver of the SUV and three passengers died at the scene. Authorities identified the three passengers as Ava Wolfe, Jayden Butterfield and Violet Corado.
Medics airlifted two passengers from the car to area hospitals with serious injuries.
The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and went to the hospital via ground ambulance.
Three additional teenagers also sustained injuries and required hospitalization.
