Narrative
ST. LOUIS, MO – Two women died Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash along the interstate in southwest St. Louis.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on the northbound side of I-55 near the exit for Butler Hill Road, which is just south of the Center for Advanced Medicine.
Police say a northbound 2015 Dodge Challenger rear-ended a northbound 2023 Buick Envision SUV when the latter vehicle slowed for traffic, and the driver of the Dodge failed to notice.
Medics transported both drivers and two passengers from the SUV to the hospital. The passengers died from their injuries.
Authorities have identified the victims only as a 71-year-old woman from Park Hills a 90-year-old woman from Desloge.
A full investigation is underway.
