Narrative
BUCKNER, MO – A man and child were injured on Monday when a vehicle struck them as they were biking along a roadway in central Buckner.
The incident happened around 10 p.m. on Washington Street near South Osage Street, which is north of Lake City Road and south of West Monroe Street.
Police say that the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene, dragging one of the victim’s bicycles behind it.
The father sustained non-critical injuries to his back, and the 8-year-old child suffered injuries to the head. They are both expected to recover.
The driver involved in the accident confessed to police shortly after midnight.
The investigation is ongoing.
