Narrative

KANSAS CITY, MO – Three people were seriously injured Sunday in a major crash along the interstate in central Kansas City.

The accident happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. on the northbound side of I-35 near Paseo Boulevard, which is in the Pendleton Heights area, just east of Garrison Square Park.

Police say that a northbound Dodge Ram 2500 pulling a trailer struck a stalled Toyota on the shoulder and three pedestrians.

Medics transported all three victims to an area hospital with critical injuries.

It’s unclear if the driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries.

Officials closed the northbound side of I-35 while emergency crews assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
