LONG LANE, MO – A van passenger was seriously hurt, and the van driver, a 74-year-old man, was killed when their van struck a tree along Highway K around 1:30 a.m. Monday. The driver – Ricky Weatherd of Buffalo, MO – was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, who was only identified as a person from Carson City, Nevada, was sent to Citizens Memorial Hospital for treatment.
