CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO – Police are reporting at least one fatality in a solo crash along the interstate in eastern Cape Girardeau County.
The incident happened Wednesday afternoon along the southbound side of I-55 at mile marker 102 on the northwest outskirts of Cape Girardeau.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the crash, the number of occupants in the vehicle, or any additional injuries that may have resulted. Additionally, authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
Officials closed the southbound side of I-55 at mile marker 105 while crews worked at the scene.
