Narrative
CAPE GIRARDIEAU, MO – An 18-year-old woman died last Tuesday in a wrong-way collision along a highway just north of Millersville.
The accident happened shortly after 5:15 p.m. along Route B. This is just southeast of Maintz Wildlife Preserve.
Police say that for unknown reasons, an unrestrained southbound driver entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a minivan.
The wrong-way driver, identified only as a woman from Patton, sustained fatal injuries.
Medics airlifted the 58-year-old male driver of the minivan to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
