Narrative
POPLAR BLUFF, MO – Three people were sent to the hospital, and a 34-year-old woman was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck on E-Business U.S. Highway 60 around 7:45 p.m. Friday. Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers said the 34-year-old woman – Zea Hawley of Poplar Bluff – operated a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier when she hit a 2016 Honda Pilot. The driver of the Honda Pilot then struck a 2010 Ford F-150. Hawley was pronounced dead at the scene and did not wear a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The F-150 was completely wrecked. The F-150 passenger – 79-year-old Virginia Thomas of Brosley, was hospitalized for unspecified injuries, while the driver – 82-year-old Sherman Thomas, also of Brosely – was taken to St. Francis Medical Center for serious injuries. The driver of the 2016 Honda Pilot, 68-year-old George Wright of Dudley – was sent to a hospital for minor injuries.
