Narrative
ADAIR CO., MO – A wrong-way crash along the interstate in southwest Adair County claimed the lives of two people on Friday.
The accident occurred shorty after 12:15 p.m. on MO-11 east of Winigan, which is about 26 miles southwest of Kirksville.
Police say that a southbound vehicle entered the northbound side of MO-11 and crashed head on into a northbound Toyota Corolla carrying three people.
Both an adult passenger and a teen from the Corolla sustained fatal injuries.
Medics transported the driver of the Toyota and the wrong-way driver to area hospitals with injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
